Continuity is the whole product. If a different stranger arrives every week, nothing else on this page matters. So we measure it and put it here, including the months it drops.

Dementia care in Altrincham
Nineteen families on our books here have a dementia diagnosis. Priya's six-day programme, plus a fixed two-carer rota so the face is familiar even on a bad day.

Fourteen live-in placements running in WA14 and WA15 right now. Popular in Hale and Bowdon, where a couple can stay together for less than two care-home fees.

Companionship
Dunham Massey on a Wednesday, the market on a Tuesday, the Garrick when there's something on. Company, not supervision.

Respite care
We keep two carers deliberately unallocated each week so respite can be arranged in days. Common after a Wythenshawe Hospital discharge.

Overnight care
Sleeping nights £185, waking nights £265. Most Altrincham families start with two nights a week after a fall and reduce from there.

The four people who run Altrincham
Between them, 28 years at this branch. You will speak to one of these four, not a contact centre.

Knows the Trafford Council assessment process inside out. Will help with the forms even if you don't use us.

Priya Raman
Training & Quality · 9 years

Village-level cover
The neighbourhoods this office actually covers
We only list a place if we have carers who live there. That's why this list is 22 long and not 200.

Mum is in Hale and refused help for two years. Siobhan came and didn't mention care once — she talked about the garden for forty minutes. Mum agreed to "a bit of help with the hoovering" and it grew from there. Eleven months later she has two visits a day and calls Bernadette her friend.

Discharged from Wythenshawe on a Friday afternoon with no package in place. I rang at 4pm expecting nothing. Amara had a carer at the house by nine the next morning. She also told me straight that they couldn't do the 7am slot I wanted for another fortnight, which I appreciated more than a promise would have been worth.

Four stars not five, and I'll say why: in the first month the evening call slipped past eight o'clock more than once and I had to chase it. They fixed it by moving Dad onto a different round and knocked £60 off that month's invoice without me asking. Two years on it's been faultless, but I'd rather tell you the honest version.

Altrincham questions
Local, specific answers
Trafford will carry out a free Care Act needs assessment for anyone who asks, regardless of savings. Funding follows the national thresholds: under £14,250 the council generally pays, between £14,250 and £23,250 there's a sliding contribution, and above £23,250 your parent is self-funding.
Trafford's 2026 direct payment rate for home care is below our private rate, so most council-funded clients here top up or use an approved provider from the framework. David will tell you honestly which route is better for your family on the first call.
We hold two carers unallocated every week specifically for this. Sixteen times this year we've started same-day or next-morning for a Wythenshawe or Trafford General discharge. Ring the branch directly on 0161 946 0187 and say it's a discharge — it goes straight to Amara.
No. Same £31.50 weekday rate everywhere in WA14, WA15, M33 and M31, and no mileage charge. Some providers quote higher in Hale and Bowdon because the houses are bigger. We think that's indefensible and we don't do it.
14 Stamford New Road, Altrincham WA14 1EX — first floor, above the opticians, two minutes from the Metrolink interchange. There's someone there 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and you're welcome to walk in without an appointment. Plenty of families do.
